Celebrating Success at the FBD Better Farming Awards:

The FBD Better Farming Awards held at the Heritage Hotel in Co. Laois proved to be a night of celebration and recognition for FRS Network, with FRS Farm Relief and Herdwatch in the running as finalist. We were delighted to have been short-listed for two distinguished awards, showcasing our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence in the agricultural sector.

We are thrilled to have received recognition in the “Best Research Project” category during the event hosted by Agri Insider. This recognition further fuels our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the continuous improvement of agricultural practices within our network and beyond.

Special thanks to all the FRS team involved in our research project on the ‘Outlook of External Farm Labour Support in Ireland’, to Opinions for conducting the research with such professionalism and to FBD Insurance for their support. Through the research we gained many valuable insights into the current landscape, challenges, and opportunities for the agricultural labour market. Our report outlines key findings, including insights into farmer and worker perspectives, the role of external labour, and the impact of regulatory changes. It also sheds light on the evolving nature of farm labour, emphasizing its significance in Ireland’s agricultural sector. Read the research report here.

We were delighted to celebrate alongside our friends in Herdwatch who deservedly won the AgTech Ireland award for ‘Best AgriTech Software Product’.

Congratulations to Anne-Marie Feighery from Offaly, who won the FRS Network Diversification Farmer of the year award. This award commends a farm’s exceptional efforts in establishing an alternative business or adding value with a commitment to sustainable farming, driving economic improvement and embracing a positive story for the industry. It was a pleasure to sponsor this award category.

Congratulations also to Liam Kildea from Roscommon who won the ‘Herdwatch Biodiversity Farmer of the Year’ award. This category spotlights farmers who passionately integrate biodiversity into their commercial farming practices, emphasizing the importance of a harmonious relationship between agriculture and nature.

Big thank you to FBD Better Farming Awards for hosting such a remarkable event. It was an evening that recognized the highest levels of achievement within the industry’s movement towards a more sustainable agricultural sector.

We extend our congratulations to all finalists and winners who are contributing significantly to the advancement of Irish agriculture.
